… In order to get comfortable and then take another nap.

What a ride so far. We have made it to the end of the chapter. I wont lie, it has been a bit stop and start but we did get there.

Introducing Gareus to readers online and in print has been fantastic. You have all only encouraged me to continue. So this is all your fault.

This first chapter has been a bit of a ‘throw lots of spaghetti on the walls and see what will stick’ approach. It has been an experiment in exploring Gareus’ life and times. Chapter 2 will be a bit more focused and long form, looking to explore the origins of the main characters and how they met (the when Gareus met Dave restaurant scene will blow Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal out of the waters BTW). We will set up a ‘big bad’ and do some more world building. We will also meet some new friends, from magical fish and pathetic worm men through to new enemies such as the breathstalkers and the ignominious bastard Tobu (and his repellent theft of Gareus’ dinner).

But dont fret, if you enjoyed popping in once in a while and just reading a quick page or two short stories will still be happening. Gareus works best in small doses (people keep telling him that anyway) so keeping him pithy is still a core component. On that point, we might be seeing a series of ‘Lil Gareus’ strips for print also which will detail the less than triumphant attempts of a young Gareus as he attempts to navigate childhood.

Regardless though, we will always be well stocked up on eels, wicker, and more arrogance than you could shake an inter-dimensional crystal at!

So, if you get lonely, just re-read chapter 1 or you could always grab a print version of Funtime and read Gareus in print (head to the store page now!). Plus, with us reaching the end of chapter 1 we may be looking to put out a Legend of Gareus Issue 1 too! Lots to be excited about.

Thanks again for supporting this silly little webcomic thus far and for the emails and comments and hello’s at the comic conventions - it really means a lot. I have been able to meet and work with some incredible people thus far and it really is humbling seeing people embrace this annoying little man with a wicker basket so warmly. It has been great and I am looking forward to more.

So without further ado: continue sit back, relax, and thank the heavens you are not…

GAAAAARRREEEEEEEUUUUUSSSS!!!!!!!
